French Broad Food Co-op Wednesday Tailgate Market

This market has been a Wednesday afternoon institution in downtown Asheville for 12 years!

Offering local and organic produce, breads, flowers, meats, cheeses and much more! Join us on Wednesdays from April to November from 2pm to 6pm in our parking lot.

For more information, or for questions about becoming a vendor, please email Mark Keefe at tailgate@frenchbroadfood.coop or call 828-713-9080.

Our FARMERS MARKET will now accept EBT & Credit/Debit transactions.

Buy tokens at the Co-op & use them like cash* at the Market.

The small PURPLE $1 tokens are EBT tokens – change may not be given. For example, if you plan to purchase $12.25 in product from a vendor at the Farmers Market, you must give the vendor $13 in EBT tokens without receiving any change in return. Usually the vendor will round down or add a little extra product to make the transaction equitable.

Customers can only purchase EBT eligible items with these tokens:

Foods for the household to eat, such as:

1. breads and cereals

2. fruits and vegetables

3. meats, fish and poultry

4. dairy products

5. Seeds and plants which produce food for the household to eat.

The larger GREEN $5 tokens are Credit/Debit Tokens – change must be given. For example, if you purchase $3.50 of product from a vendor, the vendor must give you $1.50 in change. Customers may purchase any item sold at the market with these tokens.
